Harrogate Brigantes Rotary is part of the worldwide family of Rotary Clubs whose motto is ‘Service Above Self’. We are now in our 45th year and have established a reputation for “Making a Difference” in the Harrogate area and beyond.
We support a host of local charities, raising money by various means including biennial Kids Aloud concerts at Harrogate’s Royal Hall, pop-up charity cafes, an annual golf tournament and a wishing well in Harrogate’s Valley Gardens. But it’s not all about money. We focus on young people by working with local primary schools on Kids Aloud, organising an annual Technology Tournament for local secondary schools and by sending two local sixth formers on a week’s youth leadership course.
In a project lasting several years we’ve also installed internet provision in schools in a remote part of Nepal and we have, over the years, made significant donations to ShelterBox and AquaBox.
In 2023 we were left a legacy by a friend of Brigantes who understood our policy of “Making a Difference”. He wanted to ensure that we continued to have the ability to support local organisations which have a significant impact on the wellbeing of our community.
In accordance with his wishes we are therefore making a first tranche of £50,000 available to local good causes, with another to follow at a future date. We are inviting applications from organisations located in Harrogate and district.
If you are interested in submitting an application on behalf of an organisation, please select the button below to access an application form, guidance notes on eligibility and what we are looking for in a successful application and some frequently-asked questions.
Completed applications should be returned by Friday 31st May 2024.
