Nell Bank Centre near Ilkley was the setting for a Showcase Event on 5th March attended by Stephanie Urchick, the Rotary International President – the top Rotary officer.
This was one of four UK events she was attending in this country and in this case it was to celebrate the Rotary Peace Centre at Bradford University.
We are well-versed in the Centre, having had, courtesy of Jean Grainger, a number of Peace Fellows talking to us about their work.
There were 12 tables available for displays at Nell Bank and thanks to the efforts of several of our members, Brigantes bagged one of them. We were in good company especially since ShelterBox, to whom we have donated generously over the years, also had a table in celebration of their 25th anniversary. Our loop display was created by Graham Chilvers and Tim Grainger and it afforded a superb display of our activities.
